Anke Burgmer

Professional activities/expert knowledge

Anke Burgmer studied law at the University of Cologne. Since 2018, she has been working for WDR mediagroup GmbH, the commercial subsidiary of WDR, a public-law institution, in the ARD Channels International department as Distribution Manage. There, A. Burgmer represents, among other things, public broadcasting corporations in Europe regarding cable retransmission in the Eastern European markets. From 2002 to 2009 A. Burgmer worked in the licensing department of WDR, from 2009 to 2017 she worked in the legal department of WDR mediagroup GmbH.

Susanne Costede

Professional activities/expert knowledge

Susanne Costede studied law at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg and the Université de Poitiers. Following her final examination in Koblenz, she joined the legal department of ARTE GEIE, the European cultural channel in Strasbourg, in 2000. She was appointed Deputy Legal Director in 2017 and Legal Director and Deputy Administrative Director in 2018. Since 2018, she has been a member of the general assembly of members and the supervisory body of the collecting society Verwertungsgesellschaft Rundfunk (VGR) in Austria.

Angelika Franke

Professional activities/expert knowledge

Angelika Franke studied law at the Universities of Münster (DE), Lausanne and Cologne. She completed her subsequent legal clerkship in the judicial district of the Superior Court of Düsseldorf.

Ms. Franke has been working for companies of RTL Germany since 1998, where she provided legal advice to various areas, including third-party program purchasing, online and video-on-demand offerings, and program distribution. Since 2011, she has been deputy division manager of the legal department Business & Legal Affairs. In the area of program distribution, she has been advising on distribution agreements with network and platform operators in Switzerland and Austria, among other things, for many years.

Dr. Carrie P. Krogmann

Dr. Carrie P. Krogmann studied law at the Goethe University Frankfurt (Main). After passing the first and second state examination in law, she completed a doctoral degree in the field of industrial property rights. She practices in the legal department of the Zweite Deutsche Fernsehen (ZDF), an institution under public law, with a focus on copyright. Up to 2010, Dr. Krogmann represented public broad­casters in Europe with regards to the cable retrans­mission in Eastern European markets. Since 2008, she has been coordinator of the Union of Broadcasting Organisations Estonia. Since 2013, she has been President of the foreign Distribution Committee of the IRF, Switzerland; she joined the VGR Austria in 2015 as a member of the board. Further­more, she is a member of the expert committee for copyright of the Deutscher Kulturrat [German Culture Council].

Jenny Sommerfeld-Denkl

Jenny Sommerfeld-Denkl studied law in Osnabrück, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Paris. From 2008 to 2010, she worked in sports rights marketing before joining WDR mediagroup GmbH, the commercial subsidiary of WDR, Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts, in 2010.

Since 2018, J. Sommerfeld-Denkl has headed the ARD Channels International department at WDR mediagroup GmbH, which is responsible for the retransmission of ARD programs abroad.

Since 2019, J. Sommerfeld-Denkl has been Deputy Chairwoman of the General Assembly of Members and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Verwertungsgesellschaft Rundfunk (VGR) in Austria, as well as on the Board of the VGR Association.

Dr. Martin von Albrecht

Professional activities/expert knowledge

Dr. Martin von Albrecht has been working as a lawyer in the field of copyright and media law for over 25 years. Initially, he was an employed lawyer at ProSieben and at film companies, and since 2002 he has been a partner in various law firms. His expertise lies in particular in the law of collecting societies and music law. Since 2015, he has also been a specialist lawyer for IT law.
